See's Candies Holiday Box

I love it when boxes of chocolates are decorated for the holidays. This box from See’s Candies does an especially beautiful job of it. I especially love the penguins. So cute!

The Chocolate Show: Samples: Comptoir du Cacao Pralines

As a candy blogger, my family often expects me bring them unique and tasty treats home with me. Most of the time they are not impressed with what I bring them. A few years ago I brought my Mom these Comptoir du Cacao Pralines. I bought them at the New York City Chocolate Show, and to say the least, she absolutely adored them. To this day I am asked where I can find more of them.

Charles Chocolates Holiday Collection II

Charles Chocolates is another one of my favorite chocolatiers. They are also a California based, although they’re located all the way up in San Francisco. Good thing they ship! Charles Chocolates are one of my favorite for gift giving because their packaging is so unique and striking. Like this box of chocolates actually held in a box made of chocolate. I still think that is still so cool. Both my sisters had a hard time deciding how to divvy up the box between the two of them.

The Chocolate Show: Samples: Shuao ChocoPods

Chuao is one of my favorite Chocolatiers. They have really tasty chocolate and combine it with fun and unique flavors. My favorite are the Choco Pods, as they’re a perfect chocolate portion to have with coffee. Since moving to LA I haven’t made my way to a Chuao store/cafe yet. Maybe it’s time I fix that….

I realize it’s not often that I post news or other media on my Candy Photo Fridays. This video of Kina Grannis’ “In Your Arms” was animated with Jelly Belly jelly beans! Talk about “eye candy”. As an animator myself I really appreciated the work that went into this music video. I wonder if the animators got to ear the beans after they finished!

Also, check out the “Making Of” video. So fun to see their process:
