The last of the flavor varieties that exist of the Goetze Cow Tail. I actually hadn’t had the strawberry flavor until the All Candy Expo back in 2007. They are probably the hardest to find of the three, and I think it’s because it’s not as popular as the chocolate or vanilla flavors. It took some searching, but I finally located them in a Wawa store in my area so I could buy a few for a review.
The strawberry looks and is built exactly like the regular cow tail, but this is a nice deep red color. With the sugar/flour dusting and the creme center, it reminds me a bit of an inside out red velvet cake. Pretty! The tail smells the same with a starchy sweet caramel-like smell.
The flavor starts off like a normal Cow Tail, but then you notice a hint of berry flavor. It’s not strong, just enough for you to subtly think to yourself “Mmmm strawberry”. It’s a jammy sort of flavor and it doesn’t cross me as artificial at all. It works nicely with the texture and creme inside. I’m quite fond of it myself and I’m really happy that I can get these easily where I live. I’d miss them otherwise.
