This is probably the most “classic” chocolate bar I’ve ever seen made by Vosges. Everyone is familiar with the caramel chocolate candy bar. Still they find a way to add a touch of their exotic sensibilities to it by adding some sea salt into the mix. Still, when I first saw this bar I was curious how they didn’t add some other more strange item into the mix. Interested to see how they pulled off something more mainstream, I finally bought one to try.
The dark chocolate is a gorgeous, deep, rich brown color with an intense gloss. Very sleek and sophisticated. The bar is thin like the Blood Orange Caramel, as it snaps easily and there’s only a delicate well inside holding the caramel.
You bite down on the bar and the chocolate easily gives way to a rich caramel interior. You immediately taste the salt, then the rich buttery notes of the caramel, which are superb. The chocolate then overtakes the flavor with lovely creamy notes with a flavor that’s more coffee and cream. They all blend beautifully on your tongue and give a great flavor sensation. Wowza, what a caramel chocolate bar this is.
Like the Blood Orange Caramel, this bar is a step up from a more traditional candy bar. The excellent quality of ingredients makes this bar a real standout and really worth enjoying sometime if you want to splurge.
